We went to the South Coast Botanic Garden today. It was a very cloudy morning, but the diffuse lighting was great. This is the top of an unknown plant in the cactus garden area. Spikes!

December 30: Large swells have been reported up and down the California coast for the past several days. This is what it looked like from Point Vicente today. Catalina Island is in the background.

Taken on the north shore of Lake Tahoe (California side) early on a morning in October. I like the small bit of sun peeking through the tree.

From October 17, this is a view of the Columbia River Gorge from the Oregon side, as seen from Vista House on the E. Historic Columbia River Highway. This was a very nice view, but a bit hazy that day. It seems to work better as a black and white image.

October 23: This is the south end of Lake Mamie, which lies 8,901 feet above sea level. There were very few people up there today, all the campgrounds are closed, and the area feels like it is waiting for winter.

October 20: More ‘seascapes.’ An afternoon view of the lake from North Lake Tahoe. The weather was very still and unseasonably warm. The reflections of the clouds on the water were very nice.
